Bristol Business To Shutter In New Year, Layoffs Planned

Operations at the local facility will cease in late September, according to a notice to the state.

BRISTOL, CT — Metallics Inc. has announced plans to shutter local operations next fall and eliminate 33 positions.

NSI Industries LLC and its subsidiary Metallics Inc. formally notified the state Department of Labor of plans to permanently close the facility at 229 Cross St.

Local operations are expected to cease as of Sept. 30, 2026, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice dated Nov. 7.

Christina Pastore Bucher, vice president of human resources, indicated 33 positions will be eliminated.

The workers have various titles, such as production manager, shipping associate, material handler, and warehouse associate.

Employees will be separated from the company in waves, with the first expected layoffs on May 1, 2026. All employees at the Bristol facility will be cut by Sept. 30, 2026, according to the notice.

“This action will be permanent and reflects the closure of all of Metallics Inc. operations at this location,” the notice states.

Metallics Inc.’s products range from screws to nuts, washers, bolts, anchors and fixture hangers, according to its website.
