Connecticut Public Receives CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant
The statewide public media organization was awarded $150,000 from CT Humanities.

Connecticut Public (WNPR/CPTV) has been awarded a $150,000 CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant (CTCFOSG) from CT Humanities (CTH), with funding from the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) from the Connecticut State Legislature.

Connecticut Public is Connecticut’s statewide public media organization, serving over 1 million citizens weekly with trusted local news, arts and culture journalism, community storytelling and educational resources. This grant will provide essential resources to fulfill Connecticut Public’s mission to inform, educate and inspire residents from every corner of the state.
"These resources are especially critical now as we seek to expand access to local storytelling about the arts, culture, journalism and education to more people throughout Connecticut,” said Mark G. Contreras, President and CEO of Connecticut Public. “We are committed to amplifying diverse voices and stories throughout the State of Connecticut, and contributing to a stronger and more engaged community. We are humbled by this support from CT Humanities with funding provided by the Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development/ Connecticut Office of the Arts from the Connecticut State Legislature. The CT Cultural Fund Operating Support grant will help us expand our original programming, talk shows, and coverage of culture and humanities and by increasing access to our content through all of our 49 platforms including statewide radio and television as well as a wide variety of digital options.”

Connecticut Public was one of 723 organizations in Connecticut receiving a CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grant. Totaling more than $8.5M, these grants are part of a two-year, $30.7M investment in arts, humanities, and cultural nonprofits by the CT General Assembly and approved by Governor Ned Lamont.
