TV news station adding 2 new journalists
In other television news, two multi-skilled journalists recently joined Hartford-based Fox61, having recently moved to Connecticut from Texas and Georgia.
Before joining Fox61, Priscilla Meza was a morning anchor at a station in Wichita Falls, Texas.
"I’d like to officially announce I am now working in Hartford, Connecticut as a reporter for Fox 61!" Meza wrote on Facebook. "I just want to take this moment to thank everyone for reaching out and sending me well wishes during my last week in Wichita Falls, Texas! I appreciate everyone for their support and viewership."
She added that she has some things to learn about the region.
"I’m very excited to get to know New England and all it has to offer," Meza wrote. "As well as tell the stories of the communities here."
Since the beginning of the year, Fox61 has seen several staff departures and arrivals, as have other Connecticut stations.

A Houston native, Meza graduated from Texas State University, and spent time studying in Spain, according to her bio.
Also joining Fox61 is Solen Aref, who most recently was with a FOX61’s sister station in Macon, Georgia.
"June 15 is my last day at WMAZ," Aref wrote on Facebook in early June. "I'm taking a reporting job up in Hartford, CT. I’ll be doing the same job there- but focusing on Connecticut's cold cases, and more health stories, which are my biggest passions. Georgia was an answered prayer and the adventure of a lifetime."
Aref hails from Kent, Washington, and graduated from Washington State University.
She interned at a Fox61 sister station in Seattle, and one of her specialties is "creatively using social media" to tell community-based stories, according to her bio.

Over at New Haven-based News 8, Zuri Hoffman recently joined the station as a fill-in anchor and reporter.

"I’m thrilled to now call this beautiful state home and to continue doing what I love most: telling meaningful stories that matter to this community. Grateful for this new chapter and all that lies ahead!"
According to her LinkedIn profile, Hoffman recently left WBBH in Fort Myers, Florida, where she was an anchor and reporter, and held similar positions prior to that at WPTZ-TV in Burlington, Vermont.
Hoffman obtained her BA in Journalism from Temple University.
