CT News Station Hires New Meteorologist
He graduated from Penn State with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.
Rocky Hill-based WFSB-TV has hired a new meteorologist to join its weather team.
Tyler Hughes' first days at the station began this week, he announced on Facebook.
"I’m happy to share that today was my first day as a meteorologist at WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News!" Hughes wrote on Wednesday. "I’m looking forward to serving Connecticut as a member of the First Alert weather team."

Hughes will be on-air this weekend, during his new regular shift.
According to LinkedIn, Hughes graduated in May from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.

Before joining Channel 3, Hughes worked brief stints at WLNE ABC6 in Providence, Rhode Island, and WNEP-TV 16 in Moosic, Pennsylvania.
On his Facebook page, welcomes and congratulations poured into his comments section.
"Congratulations, Tyler!" one fan wrote. "Welcome to WFSB Channel 3 … I look forward to watching you broadcast the weather this weekend."
Added another, "Great news. Work your way back to WNEP. You are missed."
