CT Ranks Among Best States For Jobs, New Study Says
The analysis compared the 50 states across 34 key indicators of job-market strength and economic health.
If you're looking for a job in Connecticut, you're in the right place, at least according to one new study. Personal finance website WalletHub named Connecticut the No. 2 best state for jobs in the country.
The Nutmeg State ranks high due in part to having the lowest unemployment rate in the country at 3.2 percent.
It also has the highest average annual growth rate for the number of available jobs along with the second-lowest share of discouraged workers — those in the labor force who aren't actively looking for work for reasons of discouragement, lack of skills, age bias, or similar barriers.

Connecticut also has strong work conditions with the average worker only logging 38 hours a week, the fourth-fewest in the country. Additionally, Connecticut has the sixth-best job security in the nation and the fourth-highest worker protection score.
Massachusetts landed at No. 1 in the study. Overall, New England did exceptionally well in the study with every state landing in the top 10.

“Living in one of the best states for jobs can provide stable conditions for the long-term, helping you ride out the fluctuations that the economy will experience in the future," WalletHub Analyst Chip Lupo said.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, West Virginia was named the worst state for jobs.
