CT TV News Anchor Tests Positive For Coronavirus

WFSB-TV's Kara Sundlun announced the news on Tuesday.

CONNECTICUT — Kara Sundlun, the veteran WFSB-TV news anchor, has tested positive for the coronavirus, she announced on her Twitter page Tuesday.

She is resting at home and experiencing "mild flu like symptoms," she wrote, adding that her husband, former WFSB-TV anchor Dennis House, and their children have tested negative.

On her Facebook page, Sundlun posted a longer announcement and a photo of the paperwork from her positive test.

"After reporting on this story for 9 months it seems surreal that I am now one of the numbers," Sundlun wrote. "Ironically, I found out on the day the first vaccine was given."

On Monday, Hartford Healthcare began administering the coronavirus vaccine to hospital staff.

House, his and Sundlun’s children, and Sundlin's "TV husband" Scot Haney, are all quarantining for their safety, she said.

Sundlun has been with Channel 3 since 2000, and she currently hosts "Better Connecticut" with Haney.

She has won multiple Emmy Awards, and she authored a book, "Finding Dad: From Love Child to Daughter," in which she chronicled her journey in meeting her biological father, former Rhode Island Gov. Bruce Sundlun.

Sundlun and House met and married while at the station, and they have two children. House left WFSB in the summer, and recently landed a visiting fellow position at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.
