2 More Rounds Of Snow, Ice Emerges In The Forecast: Here's When, What To Know
If you love snow and wintry weather, then you'll love this forecast. Here are the new forecast details for Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — Round 1 of snow this week dropped 1 to 4 inches of snow on the state early Monday, and it looks like there are two more chances of snow and ice this week in Connecticut.
"There is uncertainty surrounding the type and chance of precipitation Thursday. Data is beginning to trend colder and suggests that all types of wintry precipitation are possible," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "For now, we’re thinking snow or wintry mix initially could switch to rain as the day progresses. This part of the forecast is subject to change, so continue to check back for updates!"
The National Weather Service is currently predicting around an inch of snow and ice beginning early Thursday, and then the precipitation would change to plain rain.

"A first look at next weekend suggests our active weather pattern will continue, as there will be another system approaching Connecticut. It’s way too early to get into any specifics but, at this point, temperatures in the 30s look most probable with increasing cloudiness on Saturday," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "By Sunday, we could see a mixed bag of precipitation, ranging from snow, sleet, and freezing rain to just plain rain. The exact track of the storm will determine who sees what and how much. Given how far out this time frame of interest is, expect fluctuations in the forecast." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
Again, the weather service is predicting snow and sleet on Saturday night, and possibly some rain on Sunday. In northern Connecticut, the weather service wrote, "The snow could be heavy at times" on Sunday. We'll see, as a lot is likely to change between now and Super Bowl Sunday.
