Christmas Week Forecast To Include Some Snow For CT: What You Need To Know

Temperatures will approach zero degrees tonight. Here are the updated holiday forecast details for Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — If you've been outside Sunday, you know it is freezing out and temperatures tonight may approach zero degrees in parts of the state.

Monday won't be much warmer, with high temperatures only rising into the mid 20s. Snow showers are possible Monday night and Tuesday morning, and then temperatures will increase slightly for the remainder of the week.

"With high pressure cresting the region tonight, the wind diminishes allowing temperatures across almost all of CT to drop into the single digits by Monday morning," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "After that unseasonably cold start, temps rebound to between 25 and 30. The day begins bright, but an approaching weak system from the west will bring clouds late in the day.

"Given we stay dry, it will be great for travel. Tuesday, Christmas Eve, now looks to feature a mostly cloudy sky and the chance for snow showers (nothing too impactful, at least not yet). Festive flakes are most likely in the first half of the day," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. "Perhaps a coating to an inch will be possible, but check back for updates as we get closer!

"For Christmas, Wednesday, we’re expecting a blend of sun and clouds with highs closer to normal as they peak in the upper 30s. Temperatures will continue moderating through Thursday and Friday, peaking in the lower half of the 40s by Friday afternoon. The chance for any significant precip next week looks low... holiday travel should have very little impact from weather." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
