CONNECTICUT — The weather will be largely unsettled this week, with rain showers and storms possible from late Monday through Thursday night.

It doesn't mean it will be raining throughout this period, but heavy downpours are possible, according to meteorologists. Drier and sunny weather is forecast from Friday through Sunday as of now.

"Tonight, low pressure moves south of Long Island. This will help to further increase cloud cover and also allow for some rain to develop. The showers may last right until sunrise Tuesday!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

"Unsettled conditions persist from Tuesday to Friday with multiple low pressure waves tracking through...Potential for rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall exists, with a marginal risk of excessive rainfall midweek. We’ve issued a First Alert for downpours Wednesday into Thursday as they could lead to poor drainage flooding concerns. Given the cloudier, wet weather… high temperatures this week (will) be running near if not below average, in the low to mid-80s. By Friday, outside of an isolated shower, we should begin the transition to drier weather. Dew points will also drop back, so it will feel much nicer by the end of the week!"

"For now, the last weekend of the month looks dry, but hot and muggier. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the 80s under mostly sunny skies, while inland towns on Sunday may reach 90 degrees once again!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
