CT Weather: Snow Accumulation Estimates Released For Saturday

Forecasters shared estimates of how much snow Connecticut will receive this weekend. Here are the new details.

CONNECTICUT — Almost everyone in Connecticut is forecast to receive some snow Saturday morning but the accumulation should be minor.

Generally, a coating to an inch of snow is predicted to fall Saturday morning and some towns could see up to two inches of snow, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service said for southern Connecticut that "A period of light snow is expected overnight into Saturday morning. While any accumulation will be light, untreated surfaces could turn icy!" A coating to one inch of snow is possible. Snow could fall between 2-11 a.m. and slippery conditions are possible.

The National Weather Service said for northern Connecticut that "A dusting to an inch or 2 of snow tomorrow depending on your location. Otherwise expect cloudy skies, highs near freezing and modest north/northwest winds."

"Given the weakening trend of the northern storm and southern track of the southern storm, the impacts to Connecticut will be fairly small," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Snow showers will wind down after noon. Totals will range from a coating to an inch. A few towns in northern CT could end up just over an inch." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
