CONNECTICUT — The big weather story across Connecticut has been the freezing cold temperatures, as some parts of the state approached zero degrees early this morning.
The other weather story is that we'll see some snow on Christmas Eve. It won't add up to much, but some minor snow accumulation is possible and a record number of folks will be traveling on Christmas Eve.
And even if you're not traveling on Christmas Eve, you may still enjoy some festive snow showers.

It appears up to two inches of snow accumulation is possible in Litchfield County, while the rest of the state may see up to an inch of snow at most.
"Tuesday, Christmas Eve, features snow showers to start, mainly after 4am western CT and exiting east around 11am," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Because the snow starts before sunrise to the west, that’s where 1-2″ is possible, especially across Litchfield Co, and where a few slick spots are possible. Amounts drop off considerably farther east/southeast and will range from a coating to perhaps up to 1″ on grassy and elevated surfaces. Temperatures finally warm above freezing, and just wet roadways are expected for all during the afternoon hours. For Christmas, Wednesday, we’re expecting a blend of sun and clouds with highs closer to normal as they peak in the upper 30s. Temperatures will continue moderating through Thursday and Friday, peaking in the lower half of the 40s by Friday afternoon. The chance for any significant precip. this week looks low... holiday travel should have very little impact from weather." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
