CT Weather: Next Storm Emerges As Major Temperature Change Upcoming
Meteorologists are predicting the next round of stormy weather will arrive later this week.
While the state is currently experiencing frigid temperatures, a warm up is on the horizon, and meteorologists are predicting a windy rain storm later this week.
WFSB is calling today a First Alert Weather Day due to the cold temperatures.
Today will be dry, with highs only reaching into the upper 20s. The wind will gust up to around 30 miles per hour, making it feel like it is in the teens or single digits, according to WFSB and the National Weather Service.

“These are the types of wind chills that could cause frostbite in less than an hour!” WFSB cautions.
Tuesday will also be dry and sunny, though it will be less windy and temperatures will warm up to the low to mid 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

A big shift comes Wednesday, with much warmer temperatures, and highs reaching around 44 degrees, the National Weather Service predicts.
This is slightly above normal for mid-December, according to WFSB.
Thursday is also expected to be mild for this time of year, with highs predicted to reach around 50 degrees.
The next storm is predicted to arrive Thursday night and last into Friday, but it will be a rain event, according to the National Weather Service and WFSB.
“Showers and even some heavy rain are most likely early in the day,” WFSB predicts for Friday. “Highs on Friday could be near 50 degrees! The wind picks up through the day, too.”
WTNH is forecasting the potential for 50 mile per hour wind gusts on Friday, with rain early in the day giving way to gradual clearing as the day progresses.
The mild temperatures later this week will likely melt most or all of the recent snowfall.
