"A line of storms will develop in New York in the afternoon, crossing into CT this evening," WFSB 3 TV forecasters said. "Given how hot and humid we will get, these storms should hold together as they move into our state. The strongest could be quite gusty and will feature torrential rain with lightning and thunder. The Storm Prediction Center continues to highlight east of I91 at a level 2 risk, while the rest of the state is at level 1 risk for severe weather."

It will remain hot on Wednesday as temperatures will be between 90–95 degrees, WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said.

"A few afternoon storms could drop the temperatures, briefly, for a few towns and may be accompanied by gusty winds, heavy downpours and frequent lightning," WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said concerning the chance for storms on Wednesday. "Central and NW/SW CT is currently highlighted in a level 2 risk for severe weather, while the rest of the state is at level 1. Ponding or perhaps even poor drainage flooding are possible. Storms will be a bit more widespread tomorrow than in previous days, as a cold front approaches. That front will *also* be the key to some relief from the brutal heat and humidity!" There will be some showers and a few isolated storms on Thursday morning before better weather arrives later on Thursday, continuing through the weekend.
