New Details On Midweek Snow Storm's Impact On CT Released: What You Need To Know
You may have heard about a potential major snowstorm this week, and new details have been released concerning what we can expect in CT.
CONNECTICUT — There had been a lot of talk about a major snowstorm for Connecticut this week, but the latest data shows that the storm will remain to the south of the area and very little or almost no impacts are now expected.
"Thursday has been a period of interest since last week," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists on Tuesday. "The latest data continues to show the storm taking a southern track, likely sliding out to sea and keeping CT mainly dry. Expect mostly cloudy skies. A few isolated snow showers are possible locally, but no significant impacts are expected."
Currently, there is a 30 percent chance of snow on Thursday afternoon in southern Connecticut and a 20 percent chance in northern Connecticut.

While the week now looks largely dry, it will remain very cold until this upcoming weekend, when we may finally reach 40 degrees on Sunday.
"Today (Tuesday) is another *First Alert Weather Day* as Arctic air and a gusty wind work in tandem to create a bitter wind chill. Skies remain partly to mostly sunny, but wind chill values (below zero this morning) will be in the single digits this afternoon," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

"Some of the higher terrain in NW and NE CT may see wind chill values sub-zero for the entire day! High temperatures themselves top out in the upper 20s, about 10 degrees below average for this time of year. Tomorrow (Wednesday), while still breezy, will not be quite as cold nor as windy... so while wind chill values still drop below zero for some tomorrow morning, there will be more of an improvement in the afternoon. Highs will be around 30 degrees. After a bright start, clouds will increase a little later in the afternoon. Also of note, our average high temperature for the Hartford Area climbs to 40 tomorrow (despite not feeling like it any time soon!)," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
