CT Weather: Rain Showers End The Week, Fall Conditions This Weekend

It will begin to feel like fall this weekend, and fall actually commences on Sunday.

CONNECTICUT — It looks like the sun will largely be missing over the next few days, but we're not expecting a lot of rain either.

"Today is Connecticut Day at the Big E… while it will be a cloudier day here, and there, we should make it through the daylight hours dry," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "As an area of low pressure moves by offshore, we’ll likely get clipped by scattered showers this evening and tonight.

"They’ll last into early tomorrow, thereafter we expect partial clearing. Another area of low pressure develops to our south and meanders offshore Friday, thanks to high pressure building in from the Great Lakes (deflecting it from making further progress north)," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "How close it comes to CT will dictate how much rain we could get. We certainly could use some as deficits continue to grow (we’re now at 2″ for the Hartford Area). By the end of the week, temperatures will be trending cooler."

"Saturday and Sunday feature temperatures below average, perfectly timed for the transition in seasons as it will certainly feel like fall. Saturday, morning cloudiness should give way to at least partial clearing with highs near 70. Fall begins Sunday with the autumnal equinox at 8:43am. While we’ll see plenty of sunshine, temps may struggle to reach 70! For comparison, the normal high for September 22nd is 73 for the Hartford Area," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
