CT Weather: Severe Thunderstorms Forecast Before 4th Of July Holiday Weekend
A timeline for thunderstorms has been released, and here are the new details on the 4th of July holiday weather forecast.
CONNECTICUT, CT — Not so fast folks. It looks as if Connecticut residents will face some stormy weather before enjoying a very nice — and long — Fourth of July weekend.
Oh ... and more heat.
According to the WFSB weather team, the week will start with temperatures near 90 inland and mid- to upper-80s along the shoreline.

Then, Tuesday becomes downright volatile.
The state will wake up to foggy conditions Tuesday, with a few heavy downpours possible. Once the fog lifts, the humidity will rise as temperatures surge near 90-and that means thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon and evening. Some storms could be strong, with damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall, forecasters said.

Tuesday's thunderstorm details
"We’ve declared a *First Alert Weather Day* Tuesday as storms become likely in the afternoon and evening," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "As we see it now, some storms could be strong, perhaps even severe. The biggest threats would be damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall."
We are watching the potential for isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms on Tuesday. The main threat appears to be from 2 pm to 10 pm with the primary threat from damaging winds. There is also a risk of a few thunderstorms early in the morning, but these should not be severe. pic.twitter.com/BESJwX1J0l

Meteorologists are noting that, if the state reaches 90 degrees on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we will be in another heat wave.
By Thursday, temperatures will be seasonably warm with a near-perfect Fourth of July weekend on the horizon.
4th of July holiday forecast details
Said WFSB, "Either way, by Friday, the 4th of July, weather conditions are near perfect with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower half of the 80s; humidity will be very low too. Whether your plans take you to a cookout, a parade, or evening fireworks, the weather looks great.
WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said Saturday looks great and there is a "slight chance for a few isolated showers on Sunday." (Read more at WFSB 3 TV).
