Snow Accumulation Estimates Rise For CT: Here's How Much To Expect
A winter storm watch has already been issued for a part of Connecticut as some areas of the state will see "measurable snow."
Snow accumulation estimates are on the rise for parts of Connecticut and a winter storm watch has been issued for northern Litchfield County where seven inches or more of snow may accumulate on Tuesday.
In an update Sunday night, the weather servicer said a winter weather advisory may be needed for inland sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties where 3 to 5 inches of snow is possible, though some rain may mix in on Tuesday afternoon.
Areas along the coast in southern Connecticut may receive 1-3 inches snow before the rain mixes in late Tuesday morning. It will be plain rain on Tuesday afternoon at the coast.

"Snow covered roads possible across the interior resulting in hazardous travel. This may impact the morning commute on Tuesday," the weather service said.
The weather service said it is possible that 3 to 5 inches of snow could accumulate at the coast in southern Connecticut and more than six inches of snow for inland sections of southern Connecticut. It will all depend on the exact track of the storm, the weather service said.

Northern Connecticut snow details via the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Rain and snow before 4pm, then rain between 4pm and 5pm, then rain and snow after 5pm. High near 36. Northeast wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain and snow before 10pm, then a chance of snow between 10pm and 4am. Low around 21. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Litchfield County snow details via the National Weather Service:
A winter storm watch has been issued for northern sections of Litchfield County. "Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations over 7 inches possible....Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes."
WFSB 3 TV meteorologists snow predictions
"Tuesday is a *First Alert Weather Day* as a coastal storm brings the possibility of the first measurable snowfall of the season," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "Precipitation will likely begin mid-morning and last throughout the afternoon. Heaviest snowfall totals will be in the NW hills, where 4-8″ of snow is possible - a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for northern Litchfield County. The I-84 corridor will likely see about 1-4″, while the shoreline will mostly see a wintry mix/rain event. This is a preliminary forecast and we will continue to hone in on timing/totals over the next 24 hours.
