Weekend Storm Forecast For CT: Here's When, What To Expect

Another storm system will significantly impact our weather this weekend in CT. Here are the new details on the weather forecast.

CONNECTICUT — Another rainstorm is forecast to hit Connecticut on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

It will be cloudy and dry for much of Saturday before rain moves in during the evening hours, and the rain may be heavy at night and early Sunday before tapering off around midday Sunday, according to the latest forecasts. Some thunderstorms are possible too.

Another 1–2 inches of rain is possible, but there is some excellent news in the forecast. Beginning on Monday, sunshine is forecast through Thursday and temperatures will moderate during the week and could reach 60 degrees on Thursday. Better weather days are ahead!

"Yet ANOTHER area of low pressure will impact CT with more rain over the weekend, but it won’t be a washout. However, we do have a First Alert, due to the renewed concern for flooding provided how saturated the ground is from recent rounds of rain," said WFSB 3 TV chief meteorologist Mark Dixon with Mike Slifer and Jill Gilardi.

"The daylight hours of Saturday, while primarily cloudy, are dry. This bodes well for the Greater Hartford St. Patrick’s Day parade that steps off at 11am. You’ll need a jacket wherever your plans may take you with temps peaking in the mid to upper 40s," the forecasters said. "The likelihood for rain increases Saturday after 4pm across western CT, spreading eastward through 10pm, and becoming steadier and heavier. The heaviest rain lingers through about 4am Sunday before exiting.

"Fortunately, it appears that conditions improve just in time for the New Haven St. Patrick’s Day parade that steps off at 1:30pm Sunday. There should be partial clearing with temperatures peaking in the lower 50s. While most of the afternoon is dry, an isolated shower can’t be ruled out." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
