Tropical Storm Debby's Track Changes: Here's What It Means For Us In CT

The track of Tropical Storm Debby has changed, and it means a difference in the expected impacts on Connecticut. Here are the new details.

CONNECTICUT — The impacts of Tropical Storm Debby are coming into focus as the powerful storm advances up the East Coast.

And it appears there is some good news for us as the storm track has changed. This may mean less impacts for us during a shorter duration of time. It also means the rain may stop early Saturday, which would set up a better weekend forecast.

"Friday is humid and unsettled. We have a *First Alert* for tropical downpours, connected to the remnants of Debby," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "The latest track from the National Hurricane Center has shifted west, relative to CT, Friday into Saturday. If this trend holds, the axis of heaviest rain shifts west and away from CT. Our *First Alert* continues for Saturday, too, especially in the early morning hours, as the potential exists for downpours and perhaps storms that could be strong to severe. But Saturday afternoon, at this time, is looking better! We’re still a few days out, so this is a fluid situation – check back as we’ll continue to assess new data as it comes in. Regardless, by Sunday, we should start to dry out with at least partial clearing and decreasing humidity." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).
