CT's Fox61 Loses 3 Reporters In Latest Staff Shakeup

The trio all left the Hartford-based station last week.

CONNECTICUT — Three Fox61 reporters recently left the station, in what The Laurel is calling a period of "several months of staff upheaval."

On Monday, Lindsey Kane shared on Facebook that her last day at the station was last week.

"Due to changes within FOX61, I’ve decided not to extend my contract, and my last day with the station was Friday," Kane wrote. "I’m incredibly grateful for the last three years with the FOX team, which led me to some of the best people I know, both within the station and the community. I’ve built so many meaningful friendships, especially with the morning team, who I’ll miss dearly."

Kane, a UConn grad, did not say where she's headed, but told viewers to "stay tuned for what’s next!"

Also leaving the Hartford-based station is Julia LeBlanc, who also left on Friday after three and a half years.

"I’ve made the decision to pursue a new opportunity, which I will share with you soon!" LeBlanc wrote on Facebook. "From joining the morning team to becoming the station’s New Haven County Bureau reporter, this chapter has been filled with precious memories that I’ll keep with me for the rest of my life. I'm also incredibly grateful to have met coworkers and colleagues who are now more like family.

And finally, The Laurel reports that Angelo Bavaro also wrote last week that his time at Fox61 is wrapping up, and he is looking for new opportunities in journalism.

Bavaro had been at the station since March 2020, and graduated from University of Maryland in 2017.

Before joining Fox61, Bavaro was a reporter and weekend anchor at WBOC-TV, covering the Delmarva Peninsula in Maryland.
