Danbury Announces Holiday Openings/Closings
Christmas Day is on Thursday, Dec. 25, while New Year's Day is on Thursday, Jan. 1.
DANBURY, CT — 'Tis the season to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.
And with that come closed schools, closed municipal offices, and general changes in operations hours this time of year.
To that end, Danbury has announced its openings/closings schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. They include:

• Danbury City Hall and town offices, as well as the Danbury Public Library, close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), and they're closed for the day on Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
• Danbury City Hall and town offices, as well as the Danbury Public Library, are closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 (New Year's Day).

• Danbury Public Schools have early dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 23, with the winter break lasting from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Classs resume on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.
