DoorDash Names Connecticut’s Top Local Pizzerias In Surprise New Ranking

CONNECTICUT — In a move that’s shaking up the state’s pizza scene, DoorDash has released a new list spotlighting its top 10 local pizzerias in Connecticut — and many familiar favorites are missing from the menu.

As part of its “Battle of the Slices 2025” campaign for National Pizza Month, DoorDash analyzed thousands of customer ratings and reviews from January through September 2025 across five so-called “iconic pizza states.” The company then selected pizzerias with fewer than 10 locations, at least 1,000 reviews, and consistently high average ratings to highlight in each state.

“Pizza brings people together, from friends watching a game to kids celebrating a birthday. Every region and chef puts their own spin on a classic, and that creativity is what makes it so special,” said Ruth Isenstadt, Head of US Restaurants at DoorDash. “These local pizzerias help create memories around the table, and National Pizza Month is the perfect chance to enjoy your go-to favorite or try something new.”

In Connecticut’s listing, just one entrant — Est Est Est Pizza of New Haven — overlaps with the 121-pizzeria “Pizza Trail” previously published across the state. Shockingly, it is the only New Haven spot to make the list.

• Est Est Est Pizza – New Haven

• Joey Garlic's – Manchester
• Mario's Pizzeria – Naugatuck
• Occum Pizza – Norwich
• Pietros Pizza – Hartford
• Sofias Pizzeria – East Windsor

The Connecticut list reflects DoorDash’s broader effort to amplify smaller, independent pizzerias within its network. In total, the “Battle of the Slices” spotlight covers 50 pizzerias across five states, chosen for local flavor, consumer approval, and business scale.
