Driver Dies In Crash At I-84 Exit Ramp In CT: Police

The crash took place Sunday night, police say.

WATERBURY, CT — A driver died after a crash on the I-84 exit ramp in Waterbury Sunday night, police said.

According to Connecticut State Police, the crash took place at 11:27 p.m. on the I-84 east Exit 23 ramp when a driver hit the metal beam guardrail on the right shoulder.

The vehicle then careened over the Hamilton Avenue intersection and struck the concrete traffic barrier on the exit ramp, police said. The driver died at the scene; the identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

The Connecticut State police collision analysis reconstruction squad responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
