The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) announced that five of the top chefs in the state will host a special dinner for golfers and guests on June 27 at Lyman Orchards as part of the CRA’s 2022 Golf Classic presented by Sysco. Kristin Eddy from Millwright’s (Simsbury), Jared Falco from Rosina’s (Greenwich), Lou Fiore from Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen (West Hartford), Manuel Romero from olea (New Haven) and David Standridge from Shipwright’s Daughter (Mystic) will be the featured chefs, working together and using local ingredients from area farms to provide dinner to nearly 325 guests.

“Sourcing locally and partnering collaboratively with local fisherman, farmers and producers is a core value of the Connecticut restaurant industry,” said Chef David Standridge of Shipwright’s Daughter. “We’re looking forward to once again putting those dynamic, long-standing partnerships on full display at this year’s CRA Golf Classic.”
The CRA has also invited top ProStart high school students to provide cooking and prep support to each of the five leading chefs taking part in this annual dinner. ProStart is the two-year career-building program for high school students provided through the CRA’s CT Hospitality Educational Foundation. Whether students are looking to enter the job market directly after graduating or planning to attend college, a ProStart graduate makes a solid candidate for success.

“The CRA Golf Classic has grown year after year, and we’re on track once again to have a record number of golfers and dinner guests in 2022,” said Scott Dolch, President & CEO of the Connecticut Restaurant Association. “It’s no secret the pandemic has been extremely difficult for our industry, and that we are now dealing with the headwinds of inflation, food supply delays and worker shortage. As we do, we hope this dinner will showcase why Connecticut is home to some of the best restaurants and chefs in the country, as we also recognize incredible local high school students who are the future of our industry. The table is set for another incredible Golf Classic.”
The CRA Golf Classic is already sold out for golfers, but a limited number of dinner tickets are still available. Tickets for the dinner and sponsorship opportunities are still available at www.ctrestaurant.org/farmdinner. I’ve attached the full five-course menu that will be provided to the guests.
