Fraudsters Run Scam Posing As Local Bank Employees In CT
A local bank is warning its customers about a spike in fraud activity. Here's what to know.
THOMASTON, CT — A local bank is warning customers about a spike in fraud attempts.
Thomaston Savings Bank wrote on Facebook: "We are seeing a rise in scams where fraudsters are posing as the Thomaston Savings Bank Fraud Department, claiming there’s suspicious activity on an account and asking for online banking credentials or account numbers."
The fraudsters may also spoof caller ID so it appears as “Thomaston Savings Bank.”

"While we may contact you about suspicious activity on your accounts, we will NEVER ask for your pin, password, account number, or other private information," the bank wrote.
