Hunter Biden Faces Hearing Over License To Practice Law In CT
The state's Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is seeking to have Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, disbarred.

Yale graduate and attorney Hunter Biden faces a hearing this month over whether he should be allowed to practice law in Connecticut.
The remote hearing is scheduled for Dec. 15.
In September, the state Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel filed a presentment against Biden, who lives in Washington D.C., requesting that he be disbarred in Connecticut.

The presentment claims Biden has been “guilty of misconduct involving his character, integrity, and professional standing and conduct.”
Biden was admitted to the bar in Connecticut in April 1997.

He is currently under administrative suspension in Connecticut for failure to pay a required client security fund fee, according to the state Judicial Branch website.
Last September, Biden pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to federal tax offenses, according to federal prosecutors.
A grievance complaint was filed against Biden claiming “unethical conduct with regard to federal firearms and tax related charges,” the presentment states. In November 2024, the Ansonia/Milford Judicial District Grievance Panel found probable cause that Biden violated attorney Rules of Professional Conduct, according to the presentment.
In May 2025, Biden was disbarred by consent by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, according to the Connecticut presentment.
Biden is not contesting the Connecticut disbarment. Biden’s attorney, Ross Garber of Hartford, referenced the D.C. decision and indicated in court documents that Biden “is not asserting any reason why commensurate action (in Connecticut) would be unwarranted.”
For the Connecticut disciplinary case, Biden in August admitted he failed to answer the grievance complaint and failed to comply with attorney registration requirements, court documents show.
“Although I deny some or all of the material facts in the complaint, I acknowledge that there is sufficient evidence to prove by clear and convincing evidence the material facts constituting a violation of (the rule) regarding tax-related offenses,” Biden states, in an affidavit.
Former President Joe Biden in December pardoned Hunter for tax and gun-related charges, asserting his son had been “selectively and unfairly prosecuted.”
