BRISTOL, CT — Taking advantage of its namesake as it looks to a new direction in entertainment, Lake Compounce will be adding a floating stage to its lineup of attractions and is announcing the coming feature piece with special access options in its coming 10th Holiday Lights anniversary event.

“This new stage takes advantage of Lake Compounce’s beautiful setting and will bring the lake to life like never before,” said Lake Compounce General Manager Jeffrey Davis. “We can’t wait to see our guests enjoying an enhanced entertainment lineup in 2023, giving them reasons to visit all year long beyond our popular rides and seasonal events like Holiday Lights.”

The stage is slated to open Memorial Day weekend of 2023.

According to Lake Compounce Marketing Director Lynsey Winters, the stage will be 60-by-60 square feet with a traversable space leading to the shore. The director also noted the park is taking all appropriate safety measures with its electrical connections to the performance space as well.

“It started earlier this year and we’d brought in the new general manager and loves that we have this beautiful setting located on the lake,” she said. “We were talking about how we could activate the lake and utilize the beautiful setting we have here at the park more to our advantage and be a differentiator for our guests.”

The amusement park wants to make use of its new performance space as much as possible throughout the year.

In recognition of the new attraction, select discounted passes are offered for the coming season that also get visitors access to the park’s Holiday Lights ceremony event free this Saturday in observance of the 10th anniversary of the park’s Holiday Lights displays.

Connecticut’s largest Christmas tree will be placed in the entrance space of Lake Compounce. The park started its tree tradition in 2015, the third year of Holiday Lights, said Winters. This coming Saturday, Fox 61’s Symphonie Privett and Jennie Boom Boom from Hot 93.7’s Jenny Boom Boom will be coming to relight this year’s tree.

Over 500,000 lights are featured throughout Lake Compounce and select attractions will be operating over the course of the holiday season.
