Legendary Meteorologist Geoff Fox Dies, ‘He Really Loved All Of You,’ His Wife Said
Fox, who was a fixture on Connecticut's air waves for three decades, bravely fought a battle with pancreatic cancer since 2016.

Geoff Fox, the legendary Connecticut meteorologist, died Tuesday night after a years-long battle with pancreatic cancer, his wife, Helaine, announced. He was 75.
"I'm sorry to say Geoff lost his battle last night and passed away in his sleep," Helaine wrote on Facebook. "All the thoughts, prayers and memories you posted kept Geoff going these past few months. He really was grateful for the connection he shared with all of you."
Fox was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2016, and in September, he shared that he had entered home hospice care, after learning that cancerous growths had been discovered on his liver and lungs, in addition to his pancreas.

"The problem is I’m too weak for chemo or any treatment for these new life-sized perils," Fox wrote at the time about the home hospice care decision.
Fox, who was a fixture on Connecticut's air waves for three decades, fought against the cancer in public, though his wife said he wanted a private ending. In addition to Helaine, Fox is also survived by his daughter, Stef.

"As public of a life he lived, his wish was to be cremated with no fanfare," Helaine wrote. "I will honor his wish. Though it will be impossible to answer everyone's posts, I promise to read each and every one of them. Thank you for loving Geoff. He really loved all of you, too."
Fox was with WTNH-TV for more than 25 years until 2011, according to the station, and he also logged hours at Fox61 and Scripps News, among others.
Thousands of heartbroken fans offered condolences upon learning of Fox's passing.
"Praying for you and your family during this time," one fan wrote. "So sorry for your loss."
"I’m so sorry for you and your family, Helaine," another one wrote. "Geoff was a part of all of our lives, and he will be missed."
Added another, "Helaine, I am so very sorry for your loss. I’ve known him since channel 8. And followed him here on Facebook. He will be very missed. Sending prayers and hugs to you and Stephanie."
