Local Hero: Easton Cancer Survivor Raises Money, Gives Back

EASTON, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
Noreen Forde is an ovarian cancer survivor who is grateful for the second chance she has been afforded. Now she is committed to helping other families battling the dread disease

Once she finished chemotherapy in January 2020 she enrolled in The Clearity Foundation's Steps Through OC. She went on to raise over $8,000 with a Mother's Day plant sale, and recently raised over $8,000 with a poinsettia sale.
Contributions came in from Noreen's friends around Easton, and from around the world. Noreen does this work to help other families facing ovarian cancer so they can get the same great programs she received free.
