BRISTOL, CT — Police are looking for a driver who is accused of trying to pick up a 9-year-old girl from St. Joseph School in Bristol, according to reports.

Officers responded to the school on Center Street on Wednesday at 6:48 p.m. on a report of a suspicious incident, NBC CT reported.

The girl was with teachers when the man driving a dark-colored SUV called her name several times and told her to come to him, according to WTNH News-8.

Staff intervened and the driver sped away.

The child was not hurt. Her family told police they don't recognize the man or his vehicle, WFSB 3-TV reported.

The driver is described as being in his 20s and has dark curly hair.
