New Britain Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Wounded: Police
Police say they believe the victims knew their attacker.
NEW BRITAIN, CT - One person was killed and a second was critically injured in an early morning shooting Monday in New Britain, according to police.
Police said they were summoned to 57 Prospect St. around 3 a.m. Jan. 27 for a possible domestic violence incident.
When officers arrived, they found a female victim unresponsive on the first floor of the residence. While emergency medical personnel treated her, she was later pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Police also found a second female victim suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was transported to an area hospital. She was listed in critical condition as of Monday morning, according to police.
Police said they believe the victims knew their attacker, who fled the scene. Police did not identify the two female victims or provide their ages.

New Britain police are investigating the incident with help from the Connecticut State Police and New Britain State’s Attorney’s Office.
