CT Weather: Snow Chances Change As Very Cold Temperatures Dominate Forecast

If you love the cold weather, then this forecast is for you.

The weather pattern for Connecticut looks pretty tranquil over the next several days, but it will remain very cold, with temperatures not even hitting the freezing mark on Monday.

Things appear to get slightly more interesting from Tuesday night and Wednesday and Friday into Saturday, as we could see periods of both rain and snow during this timeframe. But it doesn't look like any of the systems will be major, and there is only a 30 percent chance for snow on Friday.

In southern Connecticut, it looks like all plain rain on Wednesday, while northern sections of the state may see some snow and rain mix in, according to the National Weather Service.

"The arctic air returns tomorrow!" said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists. "We’re forecasting high temperatures in the mid and upper 20s inland, near 30 at the shoreline. The breeze continues for the first half of the day, relaxing into the evening. Wind chill values will be between 10 and 20 through the day. High pressure will move in quickly, bringing a calmer wind and clear sky... allowing temperatures to fall off rapidly after sunset. Monday night will be especially cold as we are expecting single digit lows away from Long Island Sound!"

"Tuesday, temps only rebound to the lower half of the 30s. Thereafter, we trend a bit milder also a bit unsettled. As of now, while not a big storm system, rain or snow showers appear possible on Wednesday. With temperatures in the 40s, no impacts are expected. Thursday will likely stay relatively mild in the upper 30s and lower 40s ahead of chillier air by Friday. Don’t expect much sun for the second half of the week," said WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.
