'Nip' Bottle Ban Proposed In CT Legislature: Report
Connecticut municipalities get five cents for each nip sold within their borders.
HARTFORD, CT — A state lawmaker has proposed a bill that would ban the sale of small “nip” alcohol bottles, CTInsider reported.
State Rep. Jaime Foster, D-Ellington, told CT Insider that constituents in her district have raised concerns to her about nips and their potential impact on road safety due to drinking and driving.
The bill would prohibit the sale of any bottle of alcoholic liquor that is 50 milliliters or less in volume. It is now before the legislature’s Joint Committee on General Law.
