High School Student Struck By Vehicle In Bristol
A portion of Route 229 was closed for hours due to the accident, according to the state Department of Transportation.
BRISTOL, CT — A high school student was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday morning on Route 229, according to the state Department of Transportation and city officials.
The accident was reported at 6:21 a.m., according to Bristol police spokesman Lt. Patrick Krajewski.
Police said the 17-year-old male victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He was listed in stable condition as of 10 a.m., police said.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name due to his age.
Route 229, or King Street, was closed in both directions between New Street and Bernside Drive because of the accident, but reopened around 9:30 a.m., officials said.

The patrol division is conducting the investigation, which is ongoing. Police said the driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
Iris White, superintendent of Bristol Public Schools, said the male student attends E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain, not a local Bristol high school.
