Share Your Favorite Military Veteran In Our Patch Photo Gallery
Patch asks its readers to honor their favorite military members - past or current, living or deceased -in our special Veterans Day gallery.

CONNECTICUT — Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day from 1919 to 1954, celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans. Patch editors in north-central Connecticut are asking readers to share photos and brief stories of their favorite men and women who served or are currently serving.
Anyone wishing to have their beloved veteran included in this tribute may do so by emailing tim.jensen@patch.com. Include the veteran's name, branch of service, rank, era served, significant medals earned and the town in which the military member grew up, attended school or currently resides.
Please also include a photo (preferably horizontal) of your veteran. Due to copyright laws, professional photos will not be published. We prefer less formal family snapshots (and I just showed my age; when was the last time you heard the term "family snapshots"?).

We plan to publish the column early Monday evening on all 24 Patch sites in Hartford and Tolland counties, from Southington to Stafford, so please do not hesitate. Again, we will only accept submissions sent to the above-listed email; posts made on Facebook pages will not be included.
Thank you for sharing your beloved heroes with all of us. Here is an example of the type of submission we're seeking.
