Some State Parks Close Early Due To Crowds
On a sunny Saturday, crowds flocked to parks in Haddam, East Haddam and Middletown.
Gorgeous Saturday weather had many out enjoying the outdoors, with three state parks announcing Saturday afternoon they had to curb visitors or close outright due to the crowds.
At about 4:15 p.m., Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown had to close because its parking lot was full to capacity, according to a state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Tweet.
Meanwhile, at about 3:15 p.m., Gillette Castle State Park in East Haddam reported it was sold out for the day for tours of the castle, DEEP said, also stating the park was still open until sunset.

Earlier in the afternoon after 1 p.m., Millers Pond State Park in Haddam also had to close due to a full parking lot, DEEP said via Twitter.
