Teen Killed When Car Slams Into CT Home; ID Released
A teen is dead and two others seriously injured after a car hit a tree and "severely damaged" a home, state police said.

SHARON, CT — A car struck a tree and a house Saturday afternoon in Sharon, leaving a teen dead and two others with serious injuries, according to state police.
A 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee was driving north on Amenia Road (Route 41) in the area of Golf Drive at 3:04 p.m.
The SUV crossed into the other lane "due to an unknown reason," then left the road, hitting a tree and a home. The home had "severe damage" due to the crash, state police said.

The driver and one of the passengers were seriously injured. The driver was taken by LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital.
The other passenger, Shea Cassidy-Teti, 17, of Salisbury, was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

Cassidy-Teti was a student at The Kent School. The school community was notified of the death during a gathering at the school's St. Joseph Chapel, WFSB 3-TV reported.
The Counseling Center, Rev. Dr. Kate Kelderman, and other trusted adults are providing support as the community mourns the loss of the student.
