Trio Arrested In String Of Wolcott Business Burglaries: PD
Pizzerias, a rental car business and a convenience store were among the businesses targeted, according to police.

WOLCOTT, CT — Three people are facing criminal charges following a recent string of break-ins at local businesses, including restaurants, a rental car business and a convenience store.
In late September, burglars targeted Hitchcock Pizza and Vito’s Pizzeria, both on Meriden Road, according to police.
On Oct. 1, there were two additional burglaries on Meriden Road. Thieves gained entry into Hertz Rental Car, broke into a safe, and stole rental car keys before stealing two vehicles from the lot, according to police. The suspects then drove one of the stolen vehicles into the front doors of the adjacent Quick Mart convenience store, police said.

Detectives began surveillance on a suspect they believed to be involved in the burglaries, Michael Bachand, 51, of Dale Avenue, Wolcott.
According to police, they saw Bachand operating a vehicle similar to one captured on surveillance footage during the Hitchcock Pizza burglary.
Bachand was detained on unrelated outstanding warrants, and during questioning, he confessed to the Wolcott burglaries, according to police.
Police said they learned during questioning that two additional suspects were involved, including Jessy Capocci, 39, of Marrow Street, Oakville, and Roberto Rivera, 36, of Park Street, Waterbury.
Police took Capocci and Rivera into custody on Tuesday. Bachand, who is being held on prior warrants, will be charged for the Wolcott cases when he returns to court on Nov. 5, police said.
They face various burglary, larceny, criminal mischief and conspiracy-related charges, according to police.
