TV News Reporter Announces Departure From CT Station
She started a new job this week at another Northeast station.
Amanda Pitts, who was a freelance reporter at NBC Connecticut, announced that she has left the station after two years.
"Two years ago, I moved to Connecticut after five years of reporting in Rhode Island," Pitts wrote on Facebook. "I was looking for a new challenge and to get out of my comfort zone. This station gave me that, and so much more.
"I’ve gotten to work alongside some of the most talented photojournalists, reporters and anchors in this business. I’ve gotten to tell many stories in every corner of this state — many that will stick with me forever. No matter where this job takes me, it never gets old how people welcome us inside their homes to open up about the best and worst days of their lives."

But faster than you can say "cheesesteak," Pitts has begun a new freelance gig in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
"Hi, Philly I’m humbled to share that I’ve joined the stellar team at 6abc Action News — I’ll be filling in for a few months!" she wrote. "It’s long been my goal to make it to a top-five market, and to land at one of the best—if not THE best—local television stations in the country is a dream come true. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity."

"I cannot wait to start telling the stories of the people in the Delaware Valley and beyond," Pitts wrote.
