2 CT Zip Codes Among Most Expensive In U.S.: Town-By-Town Data Released

Here are the town-by-town numbers concerning how much homes are valued across CT, according to new data by Zillow.com.

CONNECTICUT — The global and national economy may both be in flux, but Connecticut homeowners are still enjoying strong returns on their biggest investments: their houses.

The typical home value varies from state to state and ZIP code to ZIP code. The monthly data from real estate mega-site Zillow shows which five-digit neighborhoods are commanding the highest prices. Patch complied the Connecticut communities for which Zillow reported data, for the typical home values on June 30 for the years 2019-2023.

The average home value in Connecticut is $374,599, up 4.6 percent from this time last year, according to Zillow. Single-family homes in the Nutmeg State have an average value of $401,285, whereas condos and co-ops are typically valued at $252,585.

Although the average homes in Connecticut are not valued as highly above the national average as you might expect, their appreciation widely outpaces the rest of the pack. The average United States home value is $348,853, up just 1.2 percent over the past year.

Two Connecticut ZIP code areas, covering neighborhoods in Greenwich, were among the 100 highest valued in the country, according to Zillow. The typical value of homes in both areas has appreciated considerably over the last half-decade. The top 10 typical home values were all found in Fairfield County.

The most expensive ZIP code in the country is 94027, in Atherton, CA. This San Mateo County community had typical home values of $7,552,940 in June, Zillow data shows.

These numbers reflect a weighted average of all homes in the middle of the market for a particular area, and are calculated with the Zillow Home Value Index.
