Where To Find The Easter Bunny Across Connecticut This Weekend
From trolleys to treetops, the Easter Bunny is making appearances across Connecticut with festive family events all weekend.
CONNECTICUT — The Easter Bunny is fairly young, as far as beloved mythical holiday icons go, only dating back to folklore writings of the 1500s. Germany's Easter hare, or Osterhase, made the trip west to the Pennsylvania Dutch country during the 1700s. He's been taking on more vibrant pastel shades ever since.
But regardless of where he came from, you can be sure the Easter Bunny will be everywhere this weekend.
You can see him at The Shore Line Trolley Museum on Friday and Saturday, where he'll be hopping aboard the trolley with families between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. In addition to the locomotion through the picturesque landscapes on a vintage trolley ride, there will be photo opportunities, door prizes, and a scavenger hunt. Tickets are available online here.

The Easter Bunny Express will be pulling out of the Railroad Museum of New England in Thomaston on Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Passengers on these trains enjoy a stop at the Bunny Patch where children will have the chance to help rescue the Easter Bunny's rubber duck friends, and have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. Tickets are available online here.
In addition to rail, your favorite lagomorph will be vectoring in by air, with an appearance at the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks. All the fun hands-on activities will be included with admission on Friday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Saturday, April 19 from noon to 2:00 p.m., look for His Bushytailedness at the Easter Hunt at the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society. All ages are welcome to attend. The day will begin with an Easter egg hunt, promptly at noon. The Easter Bunny will also be available for photo ops throughout the event. After the egg hunt, look for family-friendly crafts, story time, and guided tours of the Noah Webster House. Tickets are limited and pre-registration is required.
Or maybe it's time to up your game, and add that long-missing third dimension to your Easter egg hunting. The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt in the Trees through April 20. Your job is to eyeball the eggs as you climb, and present your tally to score a sweet treat at the end. Times vary throughout the weekend. Book your slot online here.
Same attitude with a lot less altitude at the Colorblends House & Spring Garden, now open seven days a week, dawn to dusk, through May 11. It doesn't get any more spring-like than the evolving display of color as snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, tulips and other spring-flowering bulbs come into bloom. The House/Gallery will be open from Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
