Andy Thiede of Berlin Awards 18th HR Certification Scholarship

Helping others succeed is paramount to Andy

Andrea (Andy) Thiede of Berlin, a 25+ year Human Resources professional, recently awarded her 18th scholarship to help offset the expense of testing for an advanced HR certification.

With a passion for HR and a desire to give back to her profession, she established the Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship, and awarded her first scholarship in 2016. To date, Andy has proudly awarded more than $8,500 in scholarships to Connecticut professionals working in HR.

Her latest scholarship was awarded to Trisha Berk, an HR Business Coordinator at HR Bull Consulting, in North Branford.

On July 1, 2024, Trisha passed the 4-hour certification exam on her first attempt to earn the SHRM-CP certification (Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional).

Andy said, “my career in HR has been very rewarding, and I love helping others build a successful career of their own.” She added, “certification in HR is an important professional credential. I have great respect and admiration for those who understand the value of continuous education.”

Andy is an HR Consultant with KardasLarson LLC, and the Director of Operations for the Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC). In addition to these roles, she serves as Treasurer of the SMA of Southern New England SHRM chapter, Assistant Treasurer of the Connecticut SHRM State Council, Treasurer for the Tri-State SHRM Conference, and Chapter Administrator for the SHRM Western CT chapter.
