Berlin Police to Carry Narcan
Because of heroin overdoses in town, police have been trained to administer the anti-overdose medication.

Beginning Friday, Berlin Police officers will carry Narcan, the live saving heroin anti-overdose medication.
Berlin is not immune from the statewide heroin epidemic that has led to hundreds of deaths.
As Berlin patrol officers were receiving training on Narcan use last week there were two overdose victims who were treated by Hunter’s Ambulance which carries the medication, Police Chief Paul Fitzgerald told The Berlin Citizen.
There reportedly have been several overdoses in town.
