Fall Dog Obedience Classes Offered by Parks Dept.
Obedience classes will be offered Monday, Aug. 8 for residents and Monday, Aug. 15 for nonresidents.

The Berlin Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for fall dog obedience classes at the Berlin Parks and Recreation Office, 230 Kensington Rd., beginning on Monday, Aug. 8 for residents and Monday, Aug. 15 for nonresidents. The classes are held at the former Pistol Creek Golf Course, 600 Spruce Brook Rd. Dog handlers should be at least 16 years old. There is a fee for residents and nonresidents for dog obedience classes and limited enrollment for all classes. Copies of dogs vaccinations should be given to instructor on the first class unless already on file. Registration forms can be obtained on the town’s website to mail in or to register in person. New WebTrac online registration is available; call for your username and password. Online registration is only available up to the last business day before the program starts.
The Dog Obedience classes offered this fall will be Kindergarten Puppy Training, a class for puppies aged two-and-a-half months to six months. The class is held on Thursdays from Sept. 8 to Oct. 20, 6-7 p.m., for seven weeks.

Basic Dog Obedience is a class that will cover basic commands for the family dog. Dogs should be at least 6 months old. Session one is held on Tuesdays from Sept. 6 to Oct. 18, 6-7 p.m., for seven weeks. Session two is held Tuesdays from Nov. 1 to Dec. 13, 6-7 p.m., for seven weeks.
Better Basic Dog Obedience is a class for handlers and dogs that have completed the Basic class. Emphasis will be on improving skills learned in the basic class. This class is held on Wednesdays from Sept. 14 to Oct. 19, 6-7 p.m., for six weeks.

Intermediate Dog Obedience class is for handlers and dogs that have completed the basic and Better Basic class. New skills will be learned as you and your dog work together as a team. This class is held on Wednesdays from Nov. 2 to Dec. 7 ,6-7 p.m., for five weeks.
