Berlin Announces Holiday Openings/Closings

Christmas Day is on Thursday, Dec. 25, while New Year's Day is on Thursday, Jan. 1.

BERLIN, CT — 'Tis the season to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holiday season.

And with that come closed schools, closed municipal offices, and general changes in operations hours this time of year.

To that end, Berlin has announced its openings/closings schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays. They include:

• Berlin Town Hall will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

• There will be no refuse/recycling collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25. They will be running on a delayed schedule for the remainder of theweek.

• The Berlin Peck-Memorial Library is closed on Wednesday, Dec. 24, Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.

• All Town of Berlin departments will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year's holiday.

• Trash Away will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026. They will be running on a delayed schedule for the remainder of the week.

• Berlin Public Schools' winter break starts Wednesday, Dec. 24, and continues through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. Classes resume on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.
