Newington-Berlin Hockey Marches Into Semifinals
Defending champions face a tall task in Masuk-Monroe.

Newington-Berlin-Manchester won its CIAC Division III quarterfinal game, 4-2 over New Fairfield-Immaculate on Saturday, March 9 at Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport.
Newington-Berlin-Manchester is seeded first while New Fairfield-Immaculate was ranked eighth. Brendon Richard had two goals and two assists in the victory for the winners.
Newington-Berlin-Manchester, now 15-4-2, advanced to the semifinal game. It will play fifth-rated Masuk of Monroe, a 6-3 winner over Hall-Southington in the quarterfinals.

Hall-Southington is the only common opponent for the two teams. Masuk tied Hall Southington once and beat them in the quarterfinals. Berlin lost both games to Hall-Southington during the regular season by the identical scores of 2-1.
