'Octoberfest' Coming to Berlin Early This Saturday
The Berlin Lions Club will host its second annual Octoberfest, with proceeds benefiting a variety of charities throughout the region.

Fall will be in the air Saturday evening, with cool but manageable temperatures and clear skies -- the perfect weather for the Berlin Lions Club's Second Annual Octoberfest.
With over 20 different kinds of beer and proceeds going to charity, why not celebrate the last weekend of summer in style with a little touch of autumn?
"Last year was our first attempt with this and it was a great success,” Ron Bosco, club member, told the New Britain Herald. “We’re expecting a bigger turnout this year.”
Organizers said the 2013 event, which will take place from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the Berlin Fairgrounds, will more than double what was provided just a year ago. There will be 20 beer vendors offer selections including Blue Moon, Harpoon, Leinenkugel, Mayflower, Otter Creek, Saranac, Two Roads, Wachusett, Wolaver's and more.
The first 300 people in the door will receive a commemorative pint beer glass and price includes unlimited sampling.
Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance or $30 at the event. All proceeds will go to benefit a variety of charities including the following:
- American School for the Deaf
- Lions Low Vision Center
- Gaylord Hospital
- CRIS Radio
- Berlin Relay for Life
