Fresh Start Fair To Connect Bethel–Danbury Residents With Jobs & Training

Rep. Allie-Brennan announces Fresh Start Fair on Dec. 13 in Bethel, offering jobs, training, youth mentorship and second-chance resources.

BETHEL, CT — State Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan has announced the launch of the Fresh Start Fair, a new community event aimed at connecting residents with job opportunities, skills training, youth mentorship programs and second-chance resources. The fair will take place Saturday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Michael’s Tap Room in Bethel.

Organized in partnership with the Bethel Chamber of Commerce and Bethel Economic Development, the event will bring together local employers, educational programs, nonprofit organizations and community resource providers serving the Bethel–Danbury region. The fair is open to students, job seekers, people considering career changes and residents looking for support after setbacks.

Allie-Brennan said the initiative reflects both his legislative focus on workforce development and his commitment to learning from a personal mistake.

“Six months ago, I made a serious mistake. I’ve paid restitution, accepted the consequences, and taken the time to learn from it,” he said in a statement. “My goal is to turn it into something meaningful. If my experience can help others rebuilding after a setback, then something constructive can come from a difficult chapter.”

The fair will feature employers, training programs, youth mentorship and internship opportunities, re-entry services, second-chance hiring resources and community support organizations. Attendees will be able to speak directly with participating groups about employment pathways and training across Greater Danbury.

“This community stood by me during a difficult period, and this fair is one way I hope to give back,” said Allie-Brennan, who represents the 2nd Assembly District, covering Bethel and parts of Danbury. “Everyone deserves the chance to start again.”

The event is free and open to the public.
