Arletta Morehouse (Barrett) Downes, 90, of Bethel, Died Peacefully

Bethel, CT — Arletta Morehouse (Barrett) Downes, age 90, of Bethel, CT died peacefully, surrounded by her children at Danbury Hospital, June 10, 2016.

She was the youngest of the 11 children of Harry Barrett and Mabel (Nichols) Barrett of Wilton, CT. She is survived by her sister: Allie Oravez of Norwalk, CT.

Were you to have met Arletta the first thing you would learn about her is that she was the mother of 8 children, and that she loved every one of them: Randy Downes and his wife Diana of Sherman, CT, Morris Downes and his wife Sally of Waterbury, CT, Maureen Unger and her husband Ben, of Thomaston, CT, Donald Downes and his fiancé Theresa Marie Leverich-Clark, Donna Downes, Douglas Downes and his fiancé Siobhan Smith, all of Bethel, CT, Harold Downes, and his wife Timara of Wolcott, NY and Joyce Downes of Woodbury, CT.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and13 great grandchildren. Her dedication and love for us all will be remembered forever. We will miss you Mom.

There will be no calling hours per her request.
