Plans call for refreshing the interior over the next few months, potentially restoring one of Bethel’s most recognizable gathering spots after its Christmas Eve closure.
   

• Builder's legal challenge over denied plan for 300 units marks 7th such court action against Newtown (newstimes.com) — A major Newtown housing proposal bordering Bethel’s busy Stony Hill Road is now headed to state court after the town’s zoning commission denied plans for 300 apartments, including 90 affordable units. The appeal highlights growing legal battles over development and affordable housing in greater Danbury, with Newtown and Bethel both emerging as focal points going into 2026.
